Puka Beach – Where to stay in Boracay for couples

At the northern tip of the island is Puka Shell Beach, also called Yapak Beach. The name Puka Beach derives from sand made of crushed puka shells.

This off-the-beaten path beach provides a quiet alternative to the silky white sands of White Beach. The water here is deeper than other swimming beaches, making it perfect for actual swimming and snorkeling or paddle-boarding.

This is a public beach, and you can rent lounge chairs from local vendors on the beach. Since this area is less commercialized, you won’t find many hotels and resorts, but there are a few sprinkled around if you want to stay in this peaceful area.

Tambisaan Beach – Where to stay in Boracay for relaxation

For the best marine life on Boracay, you want to go to Tambisaan Beach, which has several coral reefs right off shore. Tambisaan is less developed than some of the other beaches of Boracay, but there are a few local stores selling basic sundries for a day at the beach.

Many boat tours stop at the coral reefs off shore, so the water can get busy at times, but it’s also a good place to go when winds get too strong on the other side of the island.

Staying near Tambisaan Beach will require a bit more research as there are fewer places to stay, but you’ll also have a more authentic experience, as many locals frequent Tambisaan Beach, meaning there is also lots of options for authentic street food at Tambisaan Beach.
