Enjoy a romantic dinner cruise on the Chao Phraya River
There are plenty of places for a romantic dinner in Bangkok but why not enjoy a private dinner cruise down the Chao Phraya River, such as the Banyan tree’s Apsara.
By choosing a smaller cruise, it gives a more intimate and romantic experience, it is will however going to be a bit more expensive as it would be if you went to a 5 star restaurant but well worth it.
Otherwise if you don’t want feel like a dinner cruise you can also jump on one of the tourist boats or hire one of the small thin boats to take you along the river (keep a look out for the fish, they come to the surface and rub their bellies on the top of the water).
Our recommended tours:
- Romantic Dinner Cruise on Chaophraya River in Bangkok
- Bangkok Dinner Cruise on the Chao Phraya River
- Bangkok Dinner Cruise With 6-Course Thai Meal
- Indian Dinner Cruise Bangkok-Live Indian Singer
- Supanniga 6-Course Dinner and Champagne Cruise
Devour a rooftop dinner or private dinning experience
There are certainly no shortage of rooftop bars in Bangkok, my personal favourite is Vertigo at Banyan tree, it has a great view of the city (but only a bit of the river).
If you would prefer a view of the river, Sky bar /Sirocco is probably your best bet. I don’t believe private dinning is possible in these are restaurants (unless you are very wealthy and can afford to book out the whole restaurant) however you can still enjoy a romantic evening surrounded by other couples.
If you would like private dinning, your best bet would be to contact your hotel reception and I’m sure they will be able to assist, most hotels have several private dining experiences.
Relax with a couples massage
This is a no brainer! Most hotels have fantastic spa areas that can cater to every need or want to assist with your relaxation, although the services at hotels can be quite expensive. Bangkok has many well known day spa you could try instead.
Request a couples massage or treatment, relax and be pampered together otherwise you can get the hotel concierge to book you into the one of the best couple spa in Bangkok at the “So Thai Spa”.
Our recommended spa treatments:
- 120 minutes Garden Pampering Spa Experience
- Bangkok Flotation Discovery Experience
- 5-Hour Massage and Spa Experience in Bangkok
- 150 minutes Himalayan Salt Thai Spa Experience in Thonglor Bangkok
VIP cinema experience
Bangkok has a lot of giant air conditioned movie cinemas and yes you can watch a movie in English. I bet you are wondering how this is romantic and what’s the difference between watching a movie at home or in Bangkok?
The difference is that you can book VIP seats in the luxury cinema’s, these are much smaller than the normal cinema’s with comfortable seating, that in most cases recline and in some cinemas you can chill out in bean bags!
Embassy Diplomat theater complex offers a full day bed sofa and comes with blankets, pillows, personal lighting and control panel.
Hot Tip: Don’t forget to stand up during the Royal Anthem at the beginning of the movie.
Extra Hot Tip: Wednesday’s are the best day to go to the movies as they offer discounted prices! VIP seating usually starts at about 700 Baht per person, which coming from Australia, I would say this is fairly reasonable!! You receive gourmet meals and drinks to enjoy throughout the movie.
Cook up a storm in a couples cooking class
Why not learn to cook like a Thai, while in Thailand. Thai food is some of the best food in the world! Be the master of your own chili!
Cooking classes are a great way to have fun and interact with each other and in most cases you also get to take the recipes home, which means when cooking together at home you will always be reminded of the fun and exciting times you had together in Thailand.
Our recommended cooking classes:
- Private 4.5-Hour Thai Cooking Class With Boat Ride, Market Tour, and Lunch
- Private Thai Cooking Class in Bangkok
- Baipai Thai Cooking School Class in Bangkok
- Thai Cooking Class with Market Visit by Maliwan
Wander around world famous temples hand in hand
Thailand has an incredible history; you can easily spend the day wandering around Thailand ancient capital, Ayutthaya. Ayutthaya is located approx 2.5 hours out of Bangkok, here you will learn all about the ancient history of Bangkok’s first capital city.
If you don’t have time to go out to Ayutthaya, there are plenty of temples in the Bangkok city. To name a few: Wat Arun, which is in the shape of a rocket, Wat Pho which houses a 46m reclining Buddha and next door is the Grand Palace.
Our recommended Temple Tours:
- Thailand’s Ayutthaya Temples and River Cruise from Bangkok
- Private Tour: Full-Day Ayutthaya Tour from Bangkok (reasonably priced)
- Grand Palace Bangkok
- Bangkok Grand Palace and River of Kings Canal Cruise Small-Group Tour
- Bangkok Temples Tour Including Reclining Buddha at Wat Pho without Hotel Pick Up
Get your freak on with a bike tour around Bangkok
Take a bike tour around Bangkok, it’s one of the best ways to see the city, however not recommended during summer as it is far too hot! Try “Follow me Bike Tours”, which takes you on a 4 hour tour for approx. 1000 baht.
Ride through the backstreets of Bangkok city, taking in the local life, with a quick stop off at local markets to sample some fresh fruit and other goodies and then head off to view some Bangkok temples. Make sure to take lots of sunscreen and a hat and lots of water.
Cuddle up and enough a HIGH tea
Vertigo TOO high tea offers an exceptional bar experience on the 60th floor on the Banyan Tree Hotel. Cuddle up together on comfortable loungers while taking in the stunning views of Bangkok.
The seasoned mixologist will create a personalised experience for you from the cocktail trolley. High Tea is offer on Saturday and Sunday from 13:00 – 17:00.
Soak in a romantic Japanese onsen bath
Yunomori Onsen, located in Sukhumvit 26, Klongtoey offers a range of massages and spa treatments as well as traditional Japanese onsen baths.
Each bath provides a relaxing and therapeutic experience as well as its own set of benefits. Yunomori offers 6 different baths from a jet bath, soda bath and mineral bath and of course a few more.
Step into London in Bangkok….
London Street is a “food mall” which features 5 well-known restaurants with the London-chic style decoration. This is a cute stop to add to your couples trip, it makes you feel like you have stepped out of Bangkok and into London… 2 cities in 1 day?
If you’d like to save it for later, please save it to Pinterest.
Great post! We are heading to Bangkok at the end of the year, but we’re bringing my dad so we won’t have much time for romance! lol We’ll probably do a few of these, though, the couples massage and visit Ayutthaya. Thanks!
The Iron Fairies, Thong Lor, near soi 10, is great place for a romantic meal, but it’s very dark inside and themed like a Victorian iron works!
I love these ideas! I have done all them but not romantic wise haha.
