Cotai – Where to stay in Macau for first timers

Cotai is the main street running through the best area of Macau, so staying along the Cotai strip is very similar to staying along the Strip in Las Vegas.

Coloane – Where to stay in Macau with Family

Just south of the Cotai area is the very green district of Coloane. If you are wondering where to stay in Macau with family, Coloane is perfect.

This lush region is filled with beaches and hiking trails. This is the least developed area of Macau, and there are fewer hotels here, but if you are not looking for gambling or nightlife, but prefer a more scenic and active vacation, then Coloane is a great option.
