Travel to Denmark
Supposedly the happiest country in the world, Denmark is the bridge between mainland Europe and Scandinavia. Sharing a border with Germany, and a bridge to Sweden, Denmark is a popular starting point for Baltic Sea cruises.
The capital city is Copenhagen with about 1.6 million visitors each year. Famous sites include Tivoli Gardens and the mermaid statue to honor famous Dane Hans Christian Andersen.
QUICK DENMARK FACTS
Currency: Danish kroner can be withdrawn from ATMs throughout Denmark, however keep in mind that smaller cities or towns may not have access to ATMs and its recommended to withdraw cash and take it with you.
Power Points: Most power points are the same as most other European power points (2 circular prongs). Obviously I would recommend you take a Travel Adapter especially for non Europeans.
Official Language: The official language of Denmark is Danish.
Health: There are no major health concerns in Denmark for travellers however I would recommend that you contact your doctor a few weeks before you travel as in some cases you need to start any medication a few days before your trip or you may need to get a vaccination.
Drinking Tap Water: The tap water is generally safe to drink in Denmark.
Visa: Most countries don’t require a visa for short stays, to visit Denmark.

– Danish hot dogs (hot dog stands are all over the place).
– Stegt flæsk (crispy pork with parsley sauce and potatoes).
– Danish pastries (such as Cinnamon Snail or Seed Snappers).
– Danish meatballs (meatballs consist of equal calf and pork, flour, milk, eggs, onions and spices),
When to go: June, July, and August are the most ideal months to travel to Denmark. Danes typically take their holidays in July, travelling to the countryside or the coast. Copenhagen sees a year-round increase in tourists, although it peaks in July and August.
