The train station is conveniently located in the city center, making arrival, departure and day trips very easy for travellers. Aarhus is also well known as a shopping destination of Denmark, and Bruun’s Galleri near the train station is Denmark’s largest city-shopping centre. When Aarhus was founded, this area was farmland outside of the original city walls. Today, it is a residential area just west of the city centre.
