City Centre – Where to stay in Aarhus for first timers

For the largest selection of Aarhus hotels, city centre is the best area. If you are looking for an Aarhus hostel, you’ll find a few of those here too. Staying in a central location means all other neighborhoods of Aarhus are within easy reach, so you can explore the city without difficulty.

The train station is conveniently located in the city center, making arrival, departure and day trips very easy for travellers. Aarhus is also well known as a shopping destination of Denmark, and Bruun’s Galleri near the train station is Denmark’s largest city-shopping centre. For more high end boutique shopping, head to Vestergade, the street running through the city centre.

The world’s largest seawater baths opened here in 2018, in a world-class recreation center on the edge of town. The nearby promenade is lined with pop-up cafes, where visitors can wait when the baths are full. Eventually, this development will include a hotel.
