Rumba Beach Resort Caloundra – Hotel review

Location

Situated on one of the many beach fronts in the beautiful Sunshine Coast, Rumba Beach Resort is no more than an hour’s drive from two nearby airports. (Sunshine Coast Airport and Brisbane Airport).

Parking and Check In.

Having driven from Brisbane Airport, the last thing we wanted to do was try and find a car park near-by, one which wasn’t going to cost an “arm and a leg”.

Rumba Beach Resort boasts a spacious under cover, and secure car park for all hotel guests (for free), which made hauling our luggage to reception so much easier as the nearest elevator took us straight to Reception.

Upon arriving at the Reception Desk, we were greeted by two very friendly, bubbly and professional members of staff, which  made us feel truly welcomed.

The check-in process was quick, with zero hassles and within the matter of minutes we were off to check out our new suite for the next two nights. (The reception area is open from 8:30am to 5pm. However, there is a night manager on call if you need anything after-hours.)

Our room/Suite

We stayed in a two-bedroom beachfront apartment, with the Master Bedroom connecting to the outdoor balcony over-looking the sandy beach and bright blue ocean (the view was magnificent).

The bed itself was incredibly comfortable and the pillows were like massive clouds, I was tempted to take one home with me!

The apartment comes with a full kitchen including a microwave, stove, oven and dishwasher, as well as a small dining area and a lounge area with a large TV.

There is also a large outside entertainment / dining area to enjoy a meal, or a few drinks as the sun goes down. 

The entry to our room (217) offers a large cupboard area for wet / sandy clothes and shoes to be stored or hung up to dry.

The Bathroom / En-suite 

The apartment came with one bathroom that had a toilet, large shower and a vanity as well as a laundry area with a sink and a washer and dryer. 

The en-suite in the Master Bedroom had a large walk in shower, two vanities, a toilet and a large two-person spa bath. 

Food and Drink options 

You can choose a package that includes bed and breakfast or you can pay for your breakfast separately, which can be enjoyed in the 26 degrees bar area.

Rumba Beach Resort also offers daily happy hour from 4pm – 6pm and a live local performance on Friday and Saturday nights from 4pm to 7pm at the 26 degrees bar. 

Pool/beach 

Rumba Beach Resort offers two pools and a outdoor spa, one large pool and a small kiddies pool. However, if you venture outside the resort, Bulcock Beach is just a few steps away! 

Around the hotel

The hotel is located along one of the main strips, providing plenty of food and beverage options such as Hogs breathe café, the coffee club, Tides Waterfront, Sandbar café, Indiyum Indian restaurant, Hello harry burger joint and many many more options. 

If you run out of toiletries or you would like to cook in your very own kitchen, there is a Coles supermarket at Stockland Shopping Centre (a 13 min walk or 5 min drive). 

Final thoughts 

Rumba Beach Resort is a lovely place to relax with the family or to getaway with your partner. Its located just across the road from the beach, surrounded by plenty of awesome restaurants, bars and it caters for a home away from home with your own kitchen and laundry. 

I would most certainly recommend Rumba Beach Resort, and look forward to my next stay there!
