Luxury Bali Beachfront all-inclusive resort – Grand Mirage Bali

The Grand Mirage Bali is a 5 star all-inclusive beachside resort located in relaxed area of Nusa Dua, best suited for families and couples.

Arrival/First Impressions –

Check in at the Grand Mirage Bali went very smoothly, when we arrived the porter helped us with our bags and we were taken to the “Mirage Club Lounge” by the guest manager. We sat down and were provided with a nice cold towel (which we much appreciated, it was bloody hot in Bali) and a refreshing drink of our choice.

The guest manager went through the facilities of the hotel and explained what it meant to be “all-inclusive” at the Grand Mirage.

What is all-inclusive at the Grand Mirage?

Bali All inclusive vacation package includes unlimited food, beverages (including alcoholic), water sports, activities, and airport transfers. You receive unlimited food & beverages in 4 world class restaurants with exceptional cuisine, dinner with amusing cultural show 4 times a week. Room service and mini bar are included as well.

Extensive activity schedules for both children and adults are available throughout the day. Motorized and unlimited non-motorized water sports are also included.

Side note: It’s going to be difficult to travel to normal resorts now that we’ve had a taste of all-inclusive!! **some conditions apply**

Is being all-inclusive at the Grand Mirage worth it? 

I have used a random date for 1 night all-inclusive ends up being approx. $163 USD (for 2 people) which may seem a little high however if you think about having to pay for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as a hand full of drinks and cocktails throughout the day and maybe some room service if you get hungry at midnight, it all adds up.

The all-inclusive package isn’t just all about food, you also have airport transfers, activities, mini bar and much more. So to answer the question, YES! I think being all inclusive at the Grand Mirage Bali is well and truly worth it, I cant imagine what my bill would have looked without it!!

Room –

During our stay at the Grand Mirage Bali, we stayed in 2 room types:

Deluxe Ocean View Room

Offering a classic luxury of a Bali resort, the Deluxe Ocean View Room measures 42 square metres. The ultimate beauty of the ocean view makes this elegant room a soothing haven. With a comfortable queen bed (or twin single beds), wooden armoire and elegant amenities, this room echoes the being-at-home feeling. The private balcony is another luxury that this room offers. The bathroom offers a “his and hers” basins, a large bathtub and a rainfall shower.

Deluxe Romantic Ocean View

Appointed with a queen bed and canopy, this 42 square metres room vibrates a romantic tone in every inch of it. Tranquilizing on the balcony while enjoying a dramatic ocean view is the opulence of Romantic Ocean View Room. The private balcony is another luxury that this room offers. The bathroom offers a “his and hers” basins, a large bathtub and a rainfall shower.

Pool/Gym –

The Pool at the Grand Mirage Bali is huge plus it has an awesome swim up bar “Coconut Pool Bar” (I found it really hard to find a swim up bar in Bali). There are 3 sections of the pool, small kids paddle pool, another smaller pool connecting for this where water volley ball is played and a large “adult pool” where kids can swim as well.

The gym is located in the Games room area, it is a standard “hotel gym” so for serious body builders, you may need to make changed to your routine for the duration of your stay.

Dining Options –

The dining options are endless! The grand Mirage has 3 onsite dining options, one off site dining option and 2 bars.

On site:

Grand Café Restaurant 

Open for 24 hours, Grand Café offers the experience of a culinary journey around the world with its international dishes. This restaurant overlooks the pool and ocean, great for breakfast (then a swim), lunch (then a swim) and of course dinner to regain all of the energy you lost from swimming all day!

La Cascata

La Cascata serves authentic taste of pasta and other Italian dishes. The experience of feasting in a fine dining restaurant leaves a long lasting impression.

Jukung Grill Restaurant

Jukung Grill offers a taste of grilled seafood and meat. Overlooking a view of the Indian Ocean, this al-fresco restaurant highlights the serenity of Bali. Enjoy a meal and a cool sea breeze.

Off site:

Chopstick Restaurant

Serving Chinese piquancy, Chopstick is open for lunch and dinner. (Note: if you are an all-inclusive guest, some meals/drinks may not be included here)

Bars:

Panorama Lounge

Panorama Lounge is a place to enjoy a few cocktails and take in the view of the pool and beach from the open air windows.

Coconut Pool Bar

The Coconut Pool Bar is perfect for relaxing in/at the pool while sipping coconut cocktails (tropical style), they also serve various homemade cocktails, mocktails, fresh juices, or fresh coconut drinks from the coconut trees in Grand Mirage beach, this bar is open from 10 am till 6 pm.

Special events:

Rama Stage

Four days a week, Rama Stage serves an al-fresco dinner with spectacular entertainment. Distinctive thematic cuisine on each day drives the mind into the culinary experience of Asia, Europe, and Australia.

Private dining

You can arrange a private dinner on the beach with your partner in a romantic setting. The menus are reasonably priced and you end up very very full!

Room Service

The Room service menu is massive; it caters for whatever you need 24 hours a day.

Spa –

Thalasso Bali Spa at Grand Mirage Resort Bali

Thalasso Bali is situated at the very heart of Grand Mirage Bali Resort, looking out to the ocean. Offering a wide range of Thalasso and spa treatments, it is ensured to provide the perfect relaxation and rejuvenation of the body and soul.

Featuring an aquamedic pool with 100% heated seaweed and seawater, as well as 16 uniquely designed treatment rooms (we had our treatement in the cinnamon room, where the walls were decorated with cinnamon).

Thalasso Bali offers unique experiences. From Thalassotherapy to traditional Asian treatments, French trained therapists deliver more than just a spa.

Location –

Nestled among the lush coconut trees and the golden sand of Nusa Dua, Grand Mirage Resort and Thalasso Bali is located only 25 minutes from Ngurah Rai International Airport and is about 30 mins from Kuta (should you need to go experience a different side of Bali).

Staff worth Special mention –

Everyone at the resort was amazing, from front desk staff to housekeeping, room service, airport transfers, bars and restaurants. All the staff we encountered were so friendly, happy and so helpful.

I do want to say a very big thank you to Stella and Ari for looking after us before and during our stay!

Did the hotel fulfil our requests? –

Yes, I had a few small “romantic” requests for throughout our stay and the hotel had no problem fulfilling them.

Did we have any issues during our stay or do we have any suggestions? –

I was a little surprised as I usually have issues everywhere I stay (maybe im just fussy?) but I didn’t have any issues during our stay, we were comfortable and well looked after (by the minibar team, housekeeping, room services and all the restaurant and bar staff). The only annoying thing was the air conditioner was difficult to work out, it took a few tries to work out which way was cold.

Would we stay here again? –

Yes without a doubt, its been the first trip in a while where I have been able to “let loose” and relax by the pool with cocktails without having to worry about work or the world at home.

General Summary –

The resort is over 20 years old but it doesn’t look it, it has been very well maintained. The staff are an excellent resource, they are very friendly and very helpful.

The location might be considered out of the way however I think Nusa Dua is a lovely area to stay in, its so clam and relaxed and you don’t get hassled by beach vendors trying to sell you everything.

The hotel has a few small vendors selling souvenirs and other goodies on the hotel grounds near the main pool/kids playground, so you really don’t need to leave the resort!
