My first trip to the Blue Mountains was an amazing experience. I’ve always heard stories about how gorgeous the mountains are, but nothing could have prepared me for the beauty that awaited me.

We were in a small group of no more than 10 people and our private driver, who filled us in with full commentary on the way up to the Blue Mountains.

Upon arrival, we made a stop at Featherdale Wildlife Park for a one hour visit; I got to see all kinds of wildlife native to Australia like koalas, wallabies, dingoes, emus, and many more!

After that we moved further into the mountains and stopped at Scenic World for another hour. There we got to ride a railway, two cable cars and do some board walks around the forest floor.

We then explored Katoomba – The Three Sisters, Leura Garden Village, waterfalls and lookouts – Boars Head Rock and Orphan Rock before taking a river cruise back along Parramatta River.

There were plenty of cafes in the villages to buy lunch or you could bring your own and your guide would take you somewhere picturesque to relax while eating it. The river cruise returned close to Sydney Opera House around 6pm – it was truly an experience I will never forget!
