Western Australia’s capital city of Perth is most famous for being the “most isolated city in the world,” with the Indian Ocean on one side, and the Australian Outback on the other. The nearest large city is Adelaide, over 2,000 kilometers away. Despite the remote location and isolation, this city of 1.4 million residents is a cosmopolitan gem in the rough, and a great jumping off point for adventures in the Outback or a Rottnest Island tour.

Perth City / CBD – Where to stay in Perth for tourists
The best area to stay in Perth for tourists is the Central Business District. Staying in Perth City Centre means you’ll be closest to the main attractions and have the most Perth hotels to choose from. You can take a train or bus to various points around the city and to a few suburbs.
If you plan to take any tours while visiting Perth, the majority of tour buses leave from the Perth hotels in the Central Business District. The only drawback to staying in the CBD is if you plan to travel around by car. Parking is hard to find, and expensive once you do, so using public transportation is the best option if you stay in Perth city centre.
