Arrival/first impressions

We were picked up at the airport by the hotel car, provided a cold towel and a cold bottle of water which was well received, as it was fairly humid even at night.

When we arrived at the hotel there were large gates with guards, who completed a bomb check using a mirror to check under the vehicle as well as a bomb sniffing dog, this was a little intimidating at first however the driver explained that this level of security is normal after the 2005 Bali bombings. In a way it did provide some comfort considering the recent bomb and terrorist threats.

When arriving at the reception our bags were collected and we were seated, provided with some refreshing welcome drinks and cold towels while our check in was completed, a short time later we were whisked away via buggy to our villa.

Room

One Bedroom Villa

One Bedroom Villa at Four Seasons Jimbaran Bali

Hidden away was our spacious, privately contained villa within a walled tropical garden and plunge pool. The one-Bedroom Villas offers 200 square meters (2,152 square feet) of indoor and outdoor space. The free-standing, thatched-roof dwellings reflect the design of a traditional Balinese home.

As you enter the double doors to the villa you are faced with 2 buildings and straight a head is the small plunge pool

The building on the right houses a small seating area, minibar fridge and a small dinning setting, all over open so you can enjoy a warm evening breeze with a room service dinner or a private dining experience in your villa.

The building on the left houses the bedroom and bathroom, the bed is a large king size bed with mosquito netting (should you wish to use this), there are 2 entrances to the room from either the main double doors or the sliding doors which go out to the sun bathing area next to the pool.

The luxurious bathroom features fluffy towels, an oversized soaking tub (perfect for 2 people!), a separate rainfall shower and access to an outdoor garden shower.

Something to take care with, if you have had the air conditioning on all day and open the doors, the floors can become very slippery, make sure to eat footwear/slippers to ensure you don’t slip.

The Four Seasons Jimbaran Bali has 2 pools:

Spa

We heard a knock on the door and when we opened it we found a lovely lady from the spa, who provided us with robes, slippers and disposable underwear, she asked us to change and meet her outside. Once changed we headed to the small “hut” outside the bedroom where we signed the standard spa paperwork and we were whisked off via buggy to a beautiful seaside bale where we would be starting our “A Karmic Cleansing Ritual in Bali” treatment.

Our journey to self-renewal began with a traditional “sound bath”: Using Balinese gongs, expert healers will soothe your nervous system and lead you to a state of tranquillity, with a Balinese massage following. This massage used long strokes, gentle skin rolling and deep kneading techniques.

Next stop was a quick shower and off to see the spiritual yoga master, who led us through a relaxing yoga practice, chanting and meditation (this was an amazing experience, very enlightening and “freeing”).

Last but not least we ended with the resident Balinese priest completing our enlightening experience with a karmic cleansing ritual employing age-old rites, incense, flowers and pure Hindu holy water. We left feeling relax, calm and ready to take on the world! .

The Resort is only 15 minutes ride from Denpasar’s Ngurah Rai International Airport.

Special Activities

Windsurfing, sailing and snorkelling equipment and instruction are available at the beachfront, Coconut Grove. Facilities include one floodlit tennis court, fitness and exercise studio, steam and sauna.

Staff worth a Special mention

All the staff were exceptional, they were always happy to assist. We had absolutely no complaint in this regard.

Did the hotel fulfil our requests?

We didn’t have any requests before arriving to the hotel and we didn’t request anything outside of the ordinary during our stay.

Did we have any issues during our stay or do we have any suggestions

The only very very small “issue” would have been waiting for buggies now and then during check in or check out times or when it rained.

Would we stay here again?

Definitely, I’m already planning our next trip to Bali with a stay at the Four Seasons!

General Summary

The service was impeccable, the resort and views were stunning.
All the dinning venues had easy to read and understand extensive menus and the food was very tasty.
We honestly can’t wait to come back we felt so refreshed and relaxed after our time at Four Seasons Jimbaran Bali.
