Altstadt-Lehel – Where to stay in Munich first time visitors
The first borough of Munich is Altstadt-Lehel. Altstadt is the “Old Town” and where you’ll find a large concentration of tourist attractions, including Hofbrauhaus, Marienplatz and the Glockenspiel. Lehel is the adjacent neighborhood once considered a suburb, but it’s been part of Munich since 1724.
Visitors who want to be in the center of everything and are willing to pay a premium for that convenience will find lots of options within walking distance in Altstadt-Lehel or head to the train station for ease of getting around and the Munich airport is a short ride away. This area of Munich is considered the best part of Munich to stay due to its central location and offers some of the best Munich hotels.
