Fethiye City Center – Where to Stay in Fethiye for Tourists
The downtown area of Fethiye is the best area for tourists who want to explore the region beyond the beaches.
Some of the things to see in Fethiye include a visit to the Old Town area, which is called Paspatur. Here you’ll find many shops, restaurants and bars tucked into quiet little side streets.
This is also a great starting point for visiting the rock tombs located in the hills above Fethiye. If you are looking for a budget-friendly place to stay in Fethiye and don’t need to be located on the beach, then you should consider staying in the main area of Fethiye.

Fethiye Marina – Where to Stay in Fethiye for Luxury Travellers
Just south of Fethiye city center is the marina, where luxury travelers arrive by yacht. Naturally, this part of Fethiye is a bit more upscale, with luxury resorts and boutique hotels filling the area.
Naturally, there are also very nice restaurants and shops ready to cater to visitors staying nearby.
The main area of Fethiye is within walking distance from the marina, so you won’t miss out on exploring some of the historic sites.
The marina is also a great place to stay if you plan to take any boat excursions to neighbor islands. Snorkel trips also leave from the nearby marina.

Çalış – Where to Stay in Fethiye for a Beach Vacation
On the other side of the bay from the marina is Calis Beach, one of the best beaches along this stretch of the Mediterranean.
This is the most popular area for tourists who are coming to the Mugla Province for a beach vacation.
The beach stretches for about two kilometers, lined by a promenade where there are dozens of hotels and apartment rentals.
Although it’s only five kilometers from the main area of Fethiye, there is a convenient water taxi that goes between the two. It’s a fun way to travel, as you can get to see the beach and the city from the vantage point of the water.

Tucked away about an hour south of Fethiye is the small area surrounding Kabak Beach. This part of the coastline is relatively untouched and remains hidden from most tourists.
Therefore, it’s the best area for travelers who prefer to go off the beaten path.
If you prefer hidden coves and quiet hikes to English pubs and glitzy hotels, then Kabak is the best choice for you.
