Lycian Rock Tombs
Lycian Rock Tombs are a popular attraction in Fethiye. The tombs are located in the mountainside and are carved into the rock. The tombs date back to 350 BC, making them some of the oldest sites in Turkey. Built by the Lycians, the tombs were created to help transport their dead to the afterlife.
The tombs are a popular attraction for tourists visiting Fethiye and they offer a unique insight into the history of the region. They are an amazing place to visit if you are interested in ancient civilizations or just want to enjoy some peace and quiet while hiking through nature.
You can admire the rock tombs from afar or climb up the 200 steps that will take you closer to have a look in more detail. As you walk up you will also be able to experience stunning views of Fethiye and the blue sea behind it.
An excellent photo opportunity! At the top of the stairs, you will find the largest tomb, Amyntas rock tomb. You can go inside the tomb to see the ruins that are still standing.
Fethiye Fish Market
One of the best things to do in Fethiye is to visit its fish market. Located in the old town, it is open from 8 am until 8 pm every day bar Sunday where the hours are 10 am until 5 pm. Fethiye Fish Market of course has stalls that are selling fresh fish and many other types of seafood.
Plus there are stalls for many types of fruit and vegetables. The atmosphere is really nice and you can even have a coffee or some freshly squeezed juice while you are there!
The area around the fish market also has many restaurants and cafes that are worth checking out. This is a great place to eat some delicious seafood while you are in Fethiye!
Saklikent National Park
Located approx 46km away from Fethiye, Saklikent National Park is the perfect place to go and explore the geology of Turkey.
The park contains a series of canyons that have been carved out by water erosion over thousands of years. There are also many caves that you can explore as well. The park is a very popular tourist destination and it is easy to see why!
There are several hiking trails in the park, as well as high-roped walkways that you can use to reach some of the higher points.

If you are looking for things to do in the Fethiye town centre, make sure you look out for the popular Fethiye umbrella street. It is located near the fish market and is a street that has lines of colourful umbrellas strung up above.
There is also plenty of shopping in Fethiye, the old town has several shops to explore and it is a great place to pick up a bargain.
You will find everything from local souvenirs such as carpets, ceramics and jewellery, to modern accessories such as sunglasses and watches. There are also many boutiques that sell designer clothes at affordable prices.
Butterfly Valley is a secluded area just 20 km south of Fethiye. The only way to get into this valley and down onto the sandy beach is either by boat or foot. If you are wanting the easier option of a boat trip experience to the valley, you can hire many tour boats and guides that will take you to the area.
The trek down to the beach is not for the faint-hearted as you have to scramble down tricky rock faces and steep cliffs. However, once you arrive you will not be disappointed.
The beach is beautiful, surrounded by rocky cliffs and crystal clear turquoise waters. You can take a swim here or just relax in the sun on the soft white sand. The area is also home to many butterflies which flutter around in the warm summer months.
The Blue Lagoon is one of the most popular tourist attractions near Fethiye. The formations of the rock cliffs and sand have created a picturesque inland lagoon and a stunning beach with shallow waters.

The origins of this path can be traced back thousands of years when it was used by nomads and traders but today it has been transformed into an easy walk for anyone with a little bit of stamina!

The Fethiye Museum is a must-see while you are in town. It has a collection of artifacts from the Lycian Civilization and other ancient city artefacts dating back to 3000 BC.
The museum is located in the old town, just a short walk from the harbour and close to plenty of restaurants. It is open between 8:30 am and 7 pm.
The museum is definitely worth a visit if you are interested in learning more about the history of Fethiye and the region around it.
Calis beach is a long sandy beach on the shoreline of Fethiye, Turkey. The beach is excellent for sunbathing, swimming and relaxing in the sun, there are many sun loungers and parasols to hire.
