Milna – Where to stay in Hvar with kids
Only six kilometers from Hvar is the beach town of Milna. For families who want to know where to stay in Hvar for beaches, Milna is an excellent choice. The beaches are family-friendly because unlike other areas of Hvar with gravel or pebble beaches, the beaches in Milna are soft and sandy, perfect for kids to play.
The beaches are surrounded by pine forest, and you can even hike the beach path to Hvar town and discover some hidden coves along the way. There aren’t Hvar hotels on the beach here, but many within a short walking distance of the beach.

Vrboska – Where to stay in Hvar for an authentic experience
Just northwest of Jesla is the community of Vrboska. It is the smallest town on the island and has a small island offshore known as Little Venice. This historic fishing village has an interesting mix of architecture styles, from Gothic to Mediterranean to Renaissance and Baroque.
The Fishermen’s Museum in town offers a good insight into the history of the village, while several churches in town are also worth a visit. The peninsula is dotted with pebble and sandy beaches, including several nude beaches. If you are so inclined, there is an entire nudist island offshore, called Zecevo.

Gdinj – Where to stay near Hvar for relaxation
Continuing east from Zastrazisce, we find the village of Gdinj. This is another off the beaten path destination of Hvar; a quaint, stone village with few tourist services. There are a few restaurants and apartment rentals for visitors, but this is really a place to go if you want to just kick back, relax and enjoy the small village life of Croatia. A few coves and beaches are scattered along the north and south shores of this area, and having a car at your disposal is the best way to explore Gdinj.
