Currency: Barbados Dollar (BBD) is the currency of Barbados and can be withdrawn from ATMs. Which are generally located everywhere in big cities and a few in a smaller cities. The ability to pay by card in some stores or restaurant is not always an option, so it’s better to withdraw and have a small amount of cash with you. There are also ATMs everywhere in big cities.

Health: Dengue, Zika and chikungunya have all been found in Barbados (all mozzie borne diseases). I would recommend that you contact your doctor a few weeks before you travel as in some cases you need to start any medication a few days before your trip or you may need to get a vaccination.

Drinking Tap Water: The tap water is generally safe to drink, however, if you are unsure, make sure to ask your hotel receptionist or host or drink bottled water.

Flying Fish (it can be enjoyed steamed, baked, fried, or even pickled. Seasoning of the fish may differ, and you’ll often find it paired with a side of cou cou).
