Travel to Bahamas

Bahamas Destination

This island chain off the coast of Miami, Florida consists of over 700 islands. A popular day trip destination from Florida, and equally popular for cruise ships, the Bahamas are one of the most visited spots in the world.

While most visitors come to sip rum on sandy beaches, there are magnificent resorts and casinos, in addition to golf courses and water sports.

Health: There have been reported cased of zika, dengue fever and chikungunya virus in the Bahamas. The rate of HIV/AIDS infection is high in The Bahamas – make sure to wrap your “sausage”. I would recommend that you contact your doctor a few weeks before you travel as in some cases you need to start any medication a few days before your trip or you may need to get a vaccination.

Drinking Tap Water: The tap water is generally safe to drink, however, if you opting for bottled water is better to be on the safe side.

When to go: The Bahamas are the sunniest and warmest between November and April, when there is less rain than during the summer. An ideal temperature for lounging on the beach and enjoying the beautiful sunshine is around 24°C on average.
