A Backpackers Guide to Las Vegas

Visiting Vegas is a dream for most men, especially as the location has been immortalised in multiple films and television programs. From The Hangover to the action-packed thriller Ocean’s Eleven, Vegas has provided the backdrop to some of the most memorable moments in recent history.

Its grandeur and lustre means that it is far from being the most affordable location in the world, however, so visitors may need to identify cheap and affordable activities when planning their trips.

So what are your options when creating a low-cost itinerary for your Vegas excursion?

A flutter on the Vegas Strip

While this may not sound like the ideal past-time for those on a budget, this depends entirely on your level of preparation.

After all, we live in an age of virtual casinos, so there is ample opportunity to learn about your favourite games and hone your skills prior to visiting Vegas. This will optimise your chances of winning on the strip, as you begin to understand your underlying philosophy and cultivate a strategy that can deliver success.

We have used roulette as an example as it is arguably the easiest game for novice players to master, while the level of technological advancement has also ensured that the similarities between virtual and physical environments remain uncanny.

Enjoy the Eiffel Tower Experience

Las Vegas

“Isn’t the Eiffel Tower in France?” I hear you ask, and you are of course correct with this observation. Vegas is a place that makes the impossible suddenly possible, however, so it should come as no surprise that the iconic elements of Paris have been replicated in the heart of Nevada.

Providing spectacular views of the strip, the Vegas Valley and the beautiful Bellagio fountains, the Eiffel Tower at Paris is 460 feet high and can be accessed for as little as $14 during the day. Our tip would be to buy the $19 evening ticket, however, as this will enable you to enjoy these spectacular sights during sunset.

Visit Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay

Just $18 for adults and $12 for infants, the Shark Reef houses more than 1,200 fascinating species of marine life including sharks, sea turtles and of course exotic fish.

There are even unique reptiles and Komodo dragons on display, while a touch pool enables courageous guests to pet string rays, cradle crabs and even get to grips with eels! The level of entertainment is incredible, and it provides a cheap day put for individuals and the whole family.
