Travel to Panama
On the narrow strip of land separating Central and South America, there is a country called Panama. It’s centre is cut through by the Panama Canal, a celebrated example of human ingenuity that joins the Atlantic and Pacific oceans creating a vital shipping route.
Modern skyscrapers, casinos, and nightclubs contrast with colonial structures in the Casco Viejo neighbourhood and the rainforest of Natural Metropolitan Park in Panama City, the country’s capital.

Currency: Panamanian balboa (PAB) can be withdrawn from ATMs throughout Panama, however keep in mind that smaller cities or towns may not have access to ATMs and its recommended to withdraw cash and take it with you. USD is also used in Panama.
Power Points: Panama uses 2 types of plug points, as that’s the case (the same one used in the USA and Canada), I would recommend you take a Travel Adapter.
Official Language: The official language of Panama is Spanish.
Health: There are a a few health concerns in Panama for travellers. I would recommend that you contact your doctor a few weeks before you travel as in some cases you need to start any medication a few days before your trip or you may need to get a vaccination.
Drinking Tap Water: The tap water is generally safe to drink, however, its suggested that tourists only drink bottled water.
Visa: For most countries, If you arrive by air or land, you won’t need a visa. You’ll be granted an initial stay of 180 days when you arrive.

– Hojaldre (fried dough, normally eaten with breakfast)
– Arroz con Guandú (Rice with pigeon peas – normally eaten around Christmas time)
– Chicheme (A drink or a dessert made from corn, milk, and spices)
When to go: The dry season, which lasts from late December to early April, is the ideal time to travel to Panama. There may be almost daily showers from May to almost the end of the year, and the humidity is higher. In addition to being windy and partially cloudy, Panama’s dry season provides comfort despite somewhat higher temperatures.
