Year Round Sunshine Spots on the Mediterranean

Just because winter arrives, it doesn’t mean you have to endure the cold weather for months on end. Sure, the temperatures might start to drop at home, but the sunshine is out there for you to find – you just need to look in the right places. Europe has many year-round hotspots, making it a perfect place for taking Mediterranean cruises. Look out for the following ports of call when choosing a deal.

Nice, France

The French Riviera is a place of sun-kissed luxury – something we all need to enjoy as much as humanly possible! From sipping on a cocktail on one of the sun loungers that decorate the pebble beaches, strolling along the promenade on a balmy night, or taking a day trip to mega snazzy Monaco – the sun will shine on you the whole way.

Palma, Majorca

The largest city on the popular Balearic island of Majorca, Palma sits on the southern coast and magnetically attracts the sun. By day you can explore the shore front cathedral, the hustle and bustle of the Old Town and the action packed beach resort. At night you can have fun in the lively night clubs or enjoy some fresh seafood.

Canary Islands, Spain

Take your pick from Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and the many others in this hot-hot-hot archipelago. Tenerife is home to Mount Teide, a UNESCO World Heritage Site; Gran Canaria is perfect for resorts that offer something for the whole family, and Lanzarote boasts an incredible natural landscape with black beaches and volcanic rocks.

Crete, Greece

With temperatures that never drop below 15 degrees, Crete is an inviting island in the Mediterranean Sea. Stick to the south coast for the warmest temperatures, and make use of the crystal clear waters, sandy beaches and white washed villas. There are plenty of water sports to get involved with all year round.

Valletta, Malta

This small but perfectly formed island is a Mediterranean Sea-cret worth knowing about. The capital is a cultural dream with plenty of Baroque and Neo-Classical architecture to admire. Head to the beaches on nearby Gozo to work on your tan.

With healthy temperatures throughout the year, along with lots of beach action and fascinating culture – you should probably be spending some of your winter in one of these destinations.
