Westminster Abbey
One of the most iconic structures in the whole of the world, Westminster Abbey sits at the heart of London’s vibrant and artistic South Bank.
Evolved from a large, Gothic church that first appeared back in the 7th century, it is certainly an impressive architectural achievement and one that has stood the test of time. It also achieves the unique balance between modernisation and retaining its original identity.

The first church was actually founded and built on the top of Ludgate Hill in the 17th century, and since that day it has served as a dominant feature of the famed London skyline. Now centuries old, it is a must-see location for all international and local visitors.
Houses of Parliament
This list would be complete without the Houses of Parliament, which has been part of the London skyline since the middle of the 19th century.
The Houses of Parliament is the finest example of extravagant architecture in the whole of Great Britain. Designed by Charles Barry, this building remains one of the most important and seminal buildings in the UK today.
