We were picked up in the Aleenta Resort’s very nice BMW and offered cold water and fruits on our way to the resort, which took about 20mins….I think… The room was not ready when we arrived as it was only 1pm so we went down to the beach restaurant and had some very yummy lunch.
Table of Contents
Room –
Our room at Aleenta was a lovely loft style room. The lounge/living area and shared pool (shared with 8 rooms in total) on the lower level with the bedroom on the higher level.
The only downside of this room (and maybe all the rooms at Aleenta) was the VERY awful and loud air conditioner! It kept us awake most of the first night (I was also really sick which didn’t help). The upstairs air con was impossible to get to a temp below 26 degrees. At one stage we had to run both air cons to get the room cool enough to sleep which was difficult with soooo much noise! I was too sick to be bothered asking to be moved to another room.
As we were staying for a special occasion, the Aleenta kindly gave us a bottle of red wine and some yummy chocolates so enjoy.
Service –
The service at the Aleenta Resort was really good, staff always happy to help. No complaints. Everyone was very friendly. They were pretty amazing as I was soooooo sick!
Pool –
There is no public pool at Aleenta Resort (that I could see) but the way the resort is set up, you don’t need it as it seems that most rooms have a pool (shared or private) or a really nice beach.
Food –
As I was sick for most of our stay, I didn’t eat very much..
The breakfast was a little minimal; the staff bring you a 3 tier platter with pastries, fruits and a salad. While this is nice you don’t really get a choice of what you get. They do have a choice of cereals and a menu for eggs and other cooked foods.
Maybe they have found this is the best way to stop food wastage?? But as we didn’t like some of the foods on the platter we didn’t touch them.. so that seems like a waste.
Spa –
Sadly we didnt get a chance to try the spa at Aleenta Resort. It did seem very expensive but we were offered a “buy 1 get 1 free” for a 60mins massage which we weren’t able to use it due to being so sick.
Location –
Aleenta Resort is in the middle of nowhere but we did know this when booking. It is peaceful and away from the hustle and bustle of Phuket. In saying that, there really is nothing at all around the hotel. The nearest town is about 15-20mins drive (which cost us B$500 by taxi to buy some groceries). It is a lovely area to relax but you are confined to the hotel unless you have a car.
Staff worth special mention –
June was fantastic with us! She met us at the airport; she was very friendly from the start! I asked her if the hotel had a really soft cloth to clean my camera lens (it had salt on it). She went home and brought back her camera lens cleaning kit to let me borrow. This was really nice of her! Great service.
General Summary –
We spent 90% of the time during this stay in the room as I was very sick. They were kind enough to provide me with some Panadol on a few different occasions and my body weight in bottled water. At times we did have issues with room service, trying to make an order over the phone, they brought only half the order. But they were able to make me the foods I felt like while I was sick (fruit salad with only pineapple and grapefruit).
Hope to come back when we are next in Thailand.
Phuket is one of the nicest resort to chill and rest for few days, just like Townsville view, that can make you relax and free your mind from things you’re worrying about. I know, after the tragic happened last time in Phuket, I remember the movie The Impossible, its still a hot spot for vacation getaway.

Hi! Thanks for commenting
Phuket can e fairly busy so that’s why we chose Aleenta as it is out if the way of everything and easy to relax in
Hi, how about the sea? Is the beach nice and clean?
Hi Eilleen!
Yes the beach is beautiful, very peaceful and no one else around. it is very clean. I can’t say much about the rips or what the water wa slike as i was fairly unwell during our stay and didnt venture out to the ocean.
The hotel has seating and umbrellas set up to relax on and on beach service from the bar.
