My Top 10 favourite photos from “The Best of Mt Buller (2007)” and a few reasons why…

Snow filled trees
There are 3 main Alpine resorts in Victoria – Mt Hotham, Falls Creek and of course my Favourite Mt Buller! The Landscape and views are always incredible and it truly like a Winter Wonderland. Snow has always fascinated me.

The Village
Buller village is a lovely little Village, it has almost everything you need. In it, it has a supermarket, a post office, a few ski shops (the biggest being Buller Sports), hotels and hostels and of course a heap of cafés and restaurants.

The Summit
The Summit has the best views on the whole mountain, of course being the top on the mountain!

Snow filled trees

Valley View
“Breath taking” views… while it doesn’t actually take your break away.. it comes pretty close! Most of these trees were severely burnt from a bushfire in 2006/2007. Buller assisted the fire fight by using the snow guns!

Icy Snow Gun
Snow making gun covered in ice after a stormy night!

The best Snow is always just off the run
The best snow is always just off the run. As Pete say’s, you have to go “Hardcore MaGrore” through the trees and icy snow.

Holden Express Chairlift
Headed back to the village just before sunset, past the Holden Express chairlift after an amazing day of “carving up” the mountain.

Valley View Apartment
The view of Village from our Apartment rental, Valley View. Lovely apartments, just off of Bourke Street run.

View of the Surrounding areas
Last but not least, this photo really shows why I love Buller so much! (slight) snow capped mountain ranges surrounded by beautiful green landscape.

Buller is lovely, head up this winter only a few hours from Melbourne. Worth a trip
I’ve come to the realization that snow is quite nice. Much better than rain. It also makes for very pretty photos. Great photo essay. =)
Hey Wondernuts!
Thanks! Snow is colder than rain but it is much nicer, its sort of “dry”…so much easier to move around in it and not get too wet
Nice photos! Now I just miss the snow
Hey Ardun,
Thank you so much! I enjoy photography, though sometimes I wonder if I’m any good, oh well I enjoy it, that’s all that matters!
